It requires larger rear sprockets and smaller front sprockets to multiply torque.

How to create High Speed at High RPM?

Using smaller sprockets at the rear side and Larger sprockets at the front side to increase top-end speed.

Adjustable Ratios can be achieved by changing sprocket sizes.

Dirt bike uses larger rear sprockets for better torque in off-road conditions. 

Racing bikes uses small rear sprockets for higher top speeds on tracks.
